Side project
I’ve been getting some clients through Craigslist, HiretheWorld, and word of mouth. Tomorrow I have some repeat business helping someone with video and audio files. I find myself going through a daily struggle about balancing the hunt for gigs, full time gig and family. I feel like I’ve done a pretty good job of covering my bases. I’m spending some money to get things I need, I try to wait until I actually need them unless they are a good deal.
I feel good being hands on with tech. I feel good seeing things move. I’m not quiet breaking even yet, but I am close. I’m also trying to do things that will allow me to show my skills or work.
It is very interesting seeing the work come together.

What I have been doing
So…I’ve decided that I wanted to do a bunch of things. I’ve got my second kid now…(who is currently passed out), and I feel like I need to do more. I’ve had a bunch of friends, friends of friends and some random folks ask me for help with technology. I decided that it is a fun side project to have and will give me some different experiences and make me expand things.
So I setup an LLC just after the first of the year.
It is…interesting. I’ve had several clients already…and keep looking for more, which is the hard part it seems. Forming the LLC, a little painful. Some other stuff has been interesting. I’m working on expanding my CMS knowledge…which is fun. I’ve used it as an excuse to sign up for Lynda.com for training classes. Doing things a bit at a time.
I’ve also been growing a beard. It started out as a “I don’t have enough control in my life…” thing when the pregancy was going on. Now…I’ve liked it and have kept it. I think it’s something different.
Kidlet #2 is waking up…need to go take care of her.

So…I’ve been doing a bunch of stuff. Consolidating sites…where I put things, etc. So…I decided I want to do more stuff with this domain, as well as what I am doing for “side project.”
Re-launched site….
I’m still playing around with things so things will be changing.
